Foreign Policy final

Foreign Policy
Final essay
In foreign policy this year we discussed many topics about our governments involvement in the world and how we have and going to impact the future and past of the world. A few topics that we have covered is the dropping of the nukes in Japan, The use of drones by the US in fighting terrorism and why the US has so many more gun deaths then the rest of the developed nations.
The first topic I thought was an important event was the bombing on Japan. I think it was completely wrong. I’m more into the middle about it, because if we didn’t do it the war might not have ended the way it did and as fast as it did. At the same time I think it was wrong because we didn’t warn them as much as we could have, we should have dropped the smaller ones off their cost as a warning or a preview as to what will happen if they do not surrender. I think over all it should have happened anyway because supposing they said they wouldn’t give up and surrender; we had to protect our country.
In the past years we have developed more and more technology. With the great technology come drones, from predator missiles to hell storm missiles and A.G.Rs. The problem with these are that like the rest of the war when we get new ways to fight and defend the country we have to deal with the rest of the world getting there hands on it as well. But when the flintlock pistol was created other countries learned to make them and use them too. I don’t really see this as a problem because, like with those weapons we learned to use them to the better for our country. The downside is, a nuke. If everyone is dropping nukes everywhere then the world could become polluted and it could literally be the end of the would.
Next was why there are more deaths In the US then all of the developed countries. The reason why I think this is is because we have the most developed country, we have the less poverty. There are more guns in our country because we make them and supply them to the world. 55 out of 100 people own guns. We make them to build our economy. We don’t train our kid’s proper gun use and so it resolves in miss use of the weapon not for defense but as a lethal weapon to damage a person. It’s all over TV, video games and movies people using guns to kill people so maybe that could be why. I mean it as if some kid sees someone shooting someone to defend himself or she they think it’s an ok thing to do to people.
In civics I learned a lot about the governments impact on the world and the history that got our country to the way it is, it seems as if we are slowly destroying ourselves and in a way setting ourselves up for failure. This civics class taught me a lot and it scares me in the way we impact the would because its sad to see destruction to something that should be and could be great.
